Macro photograph of a peacock butterfly (Aglais io), with open wings on very small pink flowers of stonecrops, in focus in the foreground and blurred behind, in front of a blue background. The butterfly has a hairy brown body, two brown wings toothed on the rim, with beautiful colors: the lower wings have a bit of reddish hair near the body and a blue eye surrounded by a black ring, then very pale yellow ring and black again; The upper wings have an orange-red lower half, with an eye near the tip, red and black and blue, surrounded by yellow, then black and yellow spots, moving towards the center; the rim of the wings and the body seem to be sprinkled with golden powder. It does indeed look like a peacock, but above all has the head of an owl with large eyes.

Le papillon a un corps brun velu, deux ailes brunes dentées sur le rebord, avec de magnifiques couleurs: les ailes inférieures ont un peu de poils rougeâtres près du corps et un oeil bleu entouré de noir, puis de jaune très pâle et encore du noir; les ailes supérieures ont une moitié d'un rouge orangé, avec un oeil près de la pointe, rouge et noir et bleu, entouré de jaune, puis des taches noires et jaunes en s'en allant vers le centre; le rebord des ailes et le corps semblent être saupoudrés de poudre doré. Il ressemble effectivement à un paon, mais surtout à la tête d'un hibou avec de gros yeux.
