There are many of these apple trees in my area, in abandoned fields and along the roads. They appear to be escapees from very old orchards and they have naturalized over time. I've heard that local growers are trying to reproduce these trees, in an effort to revive ancestral varieties of apples that are well adapted to the harsh climate.

<p>Don't Care Where it Goes - Felt like that looking down the railroad tracks. Past the abandoned Narrowsburg lumber yard and a pass through Barryville, New York. <p>Gray Barn</p><p>The Gray Barn out on Riggsville Road is iconic to me, as is Riggsville Road.<br>This structure fits into the surrounding area as well as any other farm house or out building. The acreage is large as the land is cheap.<br>Life is simple out here and you need to keep things basic. Gray Barn
