It is a stone pillar with a brick laying bridge building lemming at the bottom, a climber half way up, and one at the top looking into the distance, holding on to the peak of the top stone. It is lovely. Behind it you can see public gardens, with some pink flowers, a mini bandstand and tall palm tree.

I believe in democracy, real democracy, not democracy skewed in favour of the rich and powerful who, to say the least, have questionable motives. I believe that wealth and opportunities should be shared more equally, promoting cooperation and social cohesion. I believe that society should be measured by how well we look after those near the bottom of the heap. I believe that we can have these things with independence. A Scottish socialist republic would be a country to be proud of.

In the background the really beautiful beach stretches to the horizon, righthand is the Atlantic Ocean, in the water on the beach are lying several big rocks, like up to five meters high. On the left is the smooth, but rocky landscape. On the beach a few people are wandering through the sand.

As I have been fully focused on the book, I’ve let photography fade a little into the background, but it was my first great love and I can’t wait to get back to it.

The Orkneys are a beautiful place ❤️!

The nature is stunning. But there is also a rich history to discover. The German high seas fleet was scuttled here after WW1.

A big spanner down at the turrets of the SMS Bayern.

The Bayern was scuttled on 21 June 1919 by the Germans themselves. The scuttling ended the interment of the German high seas fleet, which began in November 1918.

Always expect the unexpected. What would have been a less than average Timelapse, saved by the sun. I couldn’t be bothered adding title page or music. I might do at some point. The camera battery died on 500 images and missed most of a very nice sunset.
