<p>Got my new tune Ropes and Chains up tonight. 3 weeks of toiling over this one. Very emotional and technically challenging. It is what it is. Just my vocal, Takamine EF407 acoustic and Fender p-bass. Vocal mic was Apex 550 FET large diaphragm condenser. <a href="https://youtu.be/zgLh6wltQPA" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>youtu.be/zgLh6wltQPA</a> <a href="/tags/guitar/" rel="tag">#guitar</a> <a href="/tags/recording/" rel="tag">#recording</a> <a href="/tags/vocals/" rel="tag">#vocals</a> <a href="/tags/music/" rel="tag">#music</a> <a href="/tags/gearsquad/" rel="tag">#gearsquad</a> <a href="/tags/songwriting/" rel="tag">#songwriting</a></p>

<p>Got my new blues tune up. Guitars are Telecaster (L) and Danelectro 59M through the EHX B9 organ pedal (R). Bass is Fender p-bass. Harp is Hohner Special 20 B flat. I’m capo’d at the first fret on guitars, and through Keeley compressor. Harp and Tele are both through MXR Timmy. Drums are MT Power Drum kit sampler. I also tracked a Latin percussion shaker. Mics are Apex 550 for vocals and an Apex 327 for harp. Inspiration for the song came from Dylan’s version of Axe and the Wind. <a href="/tags/music/" rel="tag">#music</a> <a href="/tags/blues/" rel="tag">#blues</a> <a href="/tags/guitar/" rel="tag">#guitar</a> <a href="/tags/bass/" rel="tag">#bass</a> <a href="/tags/recording/" rel="tag">#recording</a> <a href="/tags/war/" rel="tag">#war</a> <a href="/tags/songwriting/" rel="tag">#songwriting</a> <a href="/tags/gearsquad/" rel="tag">#gearsquad</a> <a href="https://youtu.be/72GYFodn9M0" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>youtu.be/72GYFodn9M0</a></p>

<p>Progress on "How To Rise and Keep Rising" continues. Though the songwriter/performer (Stan Stewart) wishes it would go faster.<br><a href="/tags/recordingstudio/" rel="tag">#RecordingStudio</a> <a href="/tags/songwriting/" rel="tag">#Songwriting</a></p><p><a href="https://muz4now.com/2025/is-this-what-you-call-progress-creativeprocess/" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="muz4now.com/2025/is-this-what-you-call-progress-creativeprocess/"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">muz4now.com/2025/is-this-what-</span><span class="invisible">you-call-progress-creativeprocess/</span></a></p>
<p>Here’s another track I have on the shelf (# 2 of 3 so far) as I write and record songs for a concept album. This one’s an under 3 minute rocker. <p>Got my retro rock tune up tonight. Two chords with capo on the 5th fret. Em and A fingering shapes. Basically I just recorded a bunch of jam tracks, wrote some lyrics and pieced it into a song. The lyrics are about my sweetie Wendy. Been together 39 years now. The song is my Valentine’s Day gift for her. The pic is our old ‘69 VW bus on the way back from long beach on the west coast in the 1980’s. Good times. <a href="/tags/music/" rel="tag">#music</a> <a href="/tags/songwriting/" rel="tag">#songwriting</a> <a href="/tags/recording/" rel="tag">#recording</a> <a href="/tags/gearsquad/" rel="tag">#gearsquad</a> <a href="/tags/guitar/" rel="tag">#guitar</a> <a href="https://youtu.be/KgMphVUexN8" rel="nofollow"><span class="invisible">https://</span>youtu.be/KgMphVUexN8</a></p>
