I finished the Star Trek baby quilt a little while ago. It turned out lovely. #StarTrek #quilted #babyquilt #handquilting #quilt

One of my quilts was published in a zine!
A #StarTrek zine to be more specific - one filled with really good fan fiction, essays, poems and art celebrating all the new Star Trek series (including Discovery, Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds!)
Added bonus, it's FREE
Many thanks to @jordanlafordan for corralling all us fans and putting it together 🖖🏻
Time for a new #introduction post after the move!
I'm Sar, a 50yr old nerdy guy from Northern Ireland. I love IT, and am into tech and all things computing.
My hobbies include playing #WorldOfWarcraft, reading about World Of #Warcraft and thinking about #WoW
Seriously though, my *other* hobbies also include:
#Astronomy
#Linux (alternating between #Bazzite & #ArchLinux)
#Gaming on #Steam, #PS5 & #Switch (mainly on PC though, see above!)
#SciFi such as #StarWars, #Startrek, #Babylon5, #Marvel & #DC etc
Also a screenshot junkie #VirtualPhotography
I'm also awaiting the results of my #Autism diagnosis as I write this, and am also fairly confident I have #ADHD as well, giving me the #AuDHD super-deluxe wombo-combo 😂
I decided to make the jump to this self-hosted instance at the end of 2025 after many happy years on masto.ai/@sar, and have no regrets.
Yet.

Fascinating
Jason Cohen:
"Now, if you are a seasoned veteran and want to view things a little differently, try watching everything in chronological order based on when events take place in-universe. Watching things this way would have you start out with Enterprise, then the first two seasons of Discovery. Strange New Worlds will then pick up here. You then have the option to watch the reboot films, or skip them entirely and head straight for The Original Series. You can fit Section 31 in at the end here.
Once you get to The Next Generation, things get a little complicated. You can either watch all of TNG or switch off with DS9 starting with season six. By season three of DS9, you can then start switching off with Voyager before finishing with Nemesis. Considering the complexity, though, it's perfectly fine to silo each show before moving on. You would then pick up with Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Picard before returning to Discovery for season three and beyond.

Do you have a weird fun fandom head cannon/theory that isn't widely adopted but you can't get out of your head?
Here's mine:
The reason that Q never showed back up on DS9 after Sisko punched him isn't that Sisko wasn't as "fun" to play with as Picard or Janeway, it's that Sisko was a literal actual god that existed on higher planes than just the material one, and when he decked Q, Q... actually felt it.
Like, his look of shock and surprise isn't just because Sisko's actions were unexpected, it's because Q FELT IT on a cosmic level.
He realized then and there that Sisko was not JUST a human, but also an extradimensional extraplanar cosmic entity and could, in fact, actually hurt Q in a real and direct way that very few others could.
He might not have 'powers' in the traditional sense (at least not yet), but unlike PIcard or Janeway, he was a real actual tangible threat... that Q had now pissed off.
Q basically fucked around and found out, and steered clear of Sisko afterwards.
