The ThinkPad A475 is back to life, this time as Crosshair, running a fresh install of CachyOS.
#CachyOS is intriguing, even though it took some work to get it installed and working. I haven’t played with #Arch since Manjaro borked my installation about a year ago.
CachyOS has no Discover in Plasma, no #Pamac, no #Flatpak. Octopi does packages, and Arch nerds will sniff that it and the AUR are all you need.
I beg to differ.

El famoso peinado de la princesa Leia no surgió únicamente de la imaginación de Hollywood ni de una idea futurista salida de la nada.
Mucho antes de que Star Wars existiera, las jóvenes hopi del suroeste de Estados Unidos ya llevaban un peinado ceremonial muy parecido.
Se conocía como “flor de calabaza” y consistía en enrollar el cabello a ambos lados de la cabeza formando grandes espirales.
Entre los hopi, este estilo estaba asociado tradicionalmente a mujeres jóvenes solteras y tenía un fuerte significado cultural y comunitario.
Los hopi son una nación indígena asentada principalmente en el noreste de Arizona, con una historia milenaria profundamente ligada al desierto, a las ceremonias espirituales y a la preservación de sus tradiciones.
Décadas después, cuando George Lucas comenzó a diseñar la imagen de Leia para Star Wars, buscaba algo distinto a la estética brillante y futurista típica de la ciencia ficción de los años setenta.
Según explicó en varias ocasiones, quería que el personaje tuviera una apariencia inspirada en mujeres revolucionarias del México de la época de Pancho Villa y en ciertos estilos del suroeste estadounidense.
Con el tiempo, muchísimas personas empezaron a notar el parecido evidente entre los icónicos moños laterales de Leia y el antiguo peinado hopi en forma de flor de calabaza.
Aunque Lucas nunca hizo una referencia oficial y directa exclusivamente a los hopi, la semejanza visual sigue siendo imposible de ignorar.
Y ahí es donde la historia se vuelve interesante.
Porque detrás de uno de los peinados más reconocibles de la cultura pop moderna probablemente existían ecos de tradiciones indígenas muchísimo más antiguas que el propio cine.
Una imagen nacida en comunidades del desierto terminó convertida en símbolo mundial gracias a una saga espacial.
La mayoría de la gente ve los moños de Leia y piensa en galaxias lejanas, naves y rebeldes.
Pero detrás de esa imagen también sobreviven rastros de mujeres reales, culturas ancestrales y símbolos que existían siglos antes de Hollywood.
