<p>This one beats them all and it’s going to make me laugh until tonight:</p><p>“I’ve been assigned to carry out a penetration test on a server you manage. The test will be performed from the outside, since the perimeter security needs to be assessed. In order to perform the test, I therefore ask you to disable any firewall, protection, blacklist. <p>Oh happy day!</p><p>This newbie <a href="/tags/sysadmin/" rel="tag">#sysadmin</a> is VERY HAPPY because in less than 5 minutes I:</p><p><p>installed tmux (thank you for the recommendation &amp; instructions <span class="h-card"><a href="https://glammr.us/@teapot_ben" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>teapot_ben</span></a></span> and <span class="h-card"><a href="https://makervine.net/@drfyzziks" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>drfyzziks</span></a></span>)</p><br><p>upgraded PeerTube from Terminal using tmux</p></p><p>now the stakes weren&#x27;t super high because I did this for my second VPS which is running test apps... the real challenge will be to do this on my primary VPS and my in-production PeerTube instance.</p><p>Grabbing another coffee, taking a VPS snapshot and trying this.</p><p>As always THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
