Is anyone interested in trying out a beta version of the new Vernissage support in Pixelix?
We will release a beta version on GitHub later today 👀
The beta release with Vernissage support is now available on GitHub. We would love to hear your feedback.
But please remember that this is a beta version and therefore contains missing features and bugs.

Just added support for Vernissage metadata👀
I recently saw a discussion here about hashtags, which inspired me to make a few improvements to #Vernissage. I refined the helper text and added autocomplete suggestions for both hashtags and users as you type. Importantly, hashtags that follow readability and accessibility best practices are now prioritized - making them more likely to be selected by users.
Over the last few days I’ve added push notifications to #Vernissage for iOS. After some initial testing, they’re working really well! I designed it so they work automatically on every instance (including self-hosted ones) without any extra setup, keys, requests, or manual configuration. I’ll keep testing a bit more, and I’m planning to release the new version next week so everyone can use it. 😊
#Vernissage 1.43.0 is out! 🎉
This release brings better image uploads, Geohash support, improved likes/comments, AI support while editing statuses, and fixes across SSR, datepicker, AP objects handling, WebFinger, search and more.

Are you running a community-accessible #Vernissage instance?
If you’d like your instance to be included on the public server list at https://joinvernissage.org/servers.html and displayed in the mobile app, please submit a pull request to the curated instances repository: https://github.com/VernissageApp/Curated
This helps keep the list transparent, up to date, and easy for the community to maintain.
We are already working on the next #Pixelix update, which will support the #Vernissage feature "Editor's choice".
#Vernissage 1.40.0 is now available! 🎉
This release adds:

- An expanded database column for longer attachment descriptions
- Grouped like, boost, and follow notifications
- Italian language support
Thank you for contributing translations, reporting issues, and sharing suggestions. Special thanks also to everyone supporting Vernissage financially! 💚😊

More improvements landed in #Vernissage today! 🎉
The web app now shows a red dot when there are new news to read, while the iOS app displays a panel when you reach photos you’ve already seen.
I also made a few more fixes related to the Angular upgrade and standalone components. If no new bugs appear, version 1.41.0 should be released in the next few days. Thanks for all your feedback! ☺️
#Vernissage 1.41.0 is officially out! 🎉
This is a big release, especially under the hood: Angular 22, a full migration to standalone components, new timeline markers and read markers for articles, category (re)calculation, better email validation, a new indicator for unread news, and a clickable boost/like icons.
Thank you so much for all your support, feedback, and help! ❤️

Pixelix version 5.0.0 with Vernissage support is now available.
This is one of the largest updates we have ever shipped. We refactored a large portion of Pixelix's architecture to support multiple platforms with different feature sets.
Additionally many UI components got a design overhaul.
The APK is available on GitHub.
Play Store, App Store and F-Droid are following soon.
Check it out, and let us know what you think.

We just released another small bug-fix update. This should fix app crashes when visiting the profile page. These crashes only occured on specific languages.

Many new users have joined us recently, which is wonderful to see! If you enjoy #Vernissage and would like to help keep this independent, ad-free platform running, please consider supporting the project. Every contribution makes a real difference. 💚
Pixelix is now free!
After two and a half years of developing Pixelix and having it as a paid app, we've decided to switch things up and make Pixelix free for everyone.
We’re really excited to see where this takes Pixelix, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far.

Pixelix is a client for Pixelfed and Vernissage. The app is available on the Play Store, the App Store, on GitHub and F-Droid.
We (@(@[email protected] @hiebeler05) have been developing Pixelix for more than 2 years and will share updates, features, and other things about Pixelix on this account.

A lot of new people have joined #Vernissage recently - which is wonderful to see! ❤️ But I haven’t noticed many new patrons.
If you enjoy the platform, please consider supporting it on Patreon. Nothing online is truly free: Big Tech pays the bills with ads, addictive algorithms and your privacy. #Vernissage has none of that - but hosting still costs money.
I’ve also added new Patreon tiers for anyone who’d like to support the project even more. Thank you so much! 😊
We have a light, dark and a AMOLED theme. Which one do you prefer?
