《壮族布洛陀信仰研究:以广西田阳县为个案》是一篇生动的、以作者大量的田野调查为基础的博士论文，选题既具有强烈的学科特点（民族宗教学），又具有十分鲜明的现实性。论文研究的是正在发生的“历史”：这是在民族地区的一场宗教信仰重建（或者说是宗教运动）。论文从历时性视角回溯了进入二十一世纪后的短短五六年间，布洛陀信仰重建的三个阶段，考察和跟踪研究了正在广西田阳县发生的壮族民族民间信仰恢复和重建的具体过程；亦从共时性视角描述和分析了民众、知识界（学者、文化人）、政府等不同要素介入这一过程的互动。
