Even those allergic to musicals may be won over by Once, a tender-hearted Irish romance with songs by Czech Republic–born Markéta Irglová and Frames frontman Glen Hansard. (The film's director, John Carney, actually used to play bass in the group.) The trick here is that Irglová and Hansard also play the leads; because their characters are shown busking, writing music, or rehearsing, the songs are smoothly integrated in the film. The overall acoustic mood won't surprise fans of the Frames--some tracks ("Say It to Me," "When Your Mind's Made Up") have even popped up on the band's albums, though the arrangements are more pared-down here, befitting the scruffy, street-musician setting. Being the lesser-known entity, Irglová feels like a revelation; she sounds a bit like a folkie Björk on "If You Want Me," and her song "The Hill" is downright heartbreaking. Irglová and Hansard had already made the 2006 album The Swell Seasontogether, so their collaboration here feels really organic--they sound particularly good together on the title track, for instance. Fox Searchlight Picture's 1st February (UK Film Release Date) coming-of-age comedy JUNO, directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking). The narrative centers on whip-smart Juno (Ellen Page, in a breakthrough role), a teenage girl faced with an unplanned pregnancy from an afternoon with the charmingly unassuming Bleeker (Michael Cera). Juno finds her unborn baby the perfect set of parents in Mark and Vanessa Loring (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), an affluent suburban couple who are eager to adopt. Along with the total support of her parents, (Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons) Juno conquers her problems head-on, displaying a youthful exuberance that is both smart and unexpected. The film was an official selection at this year's Telluride, Toronto, and London film festivals and received the Best Film award at the Rome International Film Festival.

《志明与春娇》，彭浩翔不讳言灵感是来自他与妻子最爱的五月天同名歌曲。1999年，五月天的阿信写出这对怨侣，十多年后竟成为了彭导与编剧麦曦茵笔下的烟民调情七步曲。杨千嬅扮演的Sephora化妆小姐『余春娇』与余文乐的广告公司职员『张志明』，烟铲一族，无烟不欢，电影把2007年香港开始实施室内全面禁烟来写这对男女—志明与春娇，因禁烟在后巷抽烟的邂逅。然而，电影配音绝不港式地道，用古巴音乐、圚舞曲和法式风情来调配这段错摸不定的七日情，令烟叶烟絮之间透出澹澹的格调。
《志明与春娇》的电影音乐再次由曾担当《公主复仇记》和《AV》配乐的翁玮盈与黄艾伦再次操刀。
如果香港烟民占整体人口约15%，即有超过一百万的烟民需要Smoke Break，他们可能像志明与春娇等人一样『蛇王』，走到街上围着垃圾筒『打边炉』，蹲在后巷吞云吐雾。在黄簧管「好地方」的伴奏下，估不到肮脏且狭窄的后巷抽烟变成了浪漫主义，志明主动上前为春娇点烟，互相试探。镜头一转，配乐变成时尚的法式情怀，本来「法兰西」的浪漫钢琴声，估不到彭导幽观众一默，画面上众人在红酒与鹅肝把酒言欢，镜头下却无限放大志明被女友出卖的黄色故事。
「Why couldn´t be together everyday?」是电影的主题音乐，Slow Bossa与女声(翁玮盈) "da la da la" 的忐忑吟诵，吉他拨奏下就是志明与春娇的恋爱预告。再扬起即兴的吉他曲「法国人惹的祸」，再由春娇在卡拉OK扮娜姐一夜间高唱甄妮的「最后的玫瑰」，速成她与志明的一拍即合，两人互发短讯来往，他们就是这样暧昧地开始。「Can´t stop smoking」不间断的三拍子旋律，就像烟圈的咒箍紧，港男港女两性间成为了永远的矛盾。在香港政府宣布加烟税的午夜前，上瘾难戒的志明与春娇，忽忙找烟，再在便利店相遇，从小提琴、钢琴的跳跃二重奏「Swing Swing」，究竟他们在『爱情抛锚』找到什么的答桉，由欧式手风琴调出的Dark Slow Waltz调子「Transparent Secret」带出的谜底，就隐藏于出人意表的弦乐「n55IWI」之中。
充满了鬼主义的彭浩翔，创作的故事有不少黑色幽默、恐怖、离奇荒诞甚至男女情欲等元素。彭浩翔的电影，不止是光怪陆离，本身非烟民的他连拍『食支烟』也别有洞天的男女恋爱观点。片中虽然没有用上的怀旧复式二拍子「春天」和『超级巨声』的邝栢廉唱出的「如烟」，接上了这对抽『绿 Luck』与『幼卡碧』—「Dream Smoker」大团圆的心声，幸好特别收录在这张电影原声大碟之内。
