成濑歌（成海璃子 饰）从小就展露出了过人的音乐天赋，在身为音乐家的父亲光一郎（西岛俊秀 饰）莫名失踪后，母亲美香（手冢理美 饰）便将所有的期望却都投放到了歌的身上。随着年龄的增长，钢琴渐渐成为了歌肩上的负担，她没有朋友，没有自己的兴趣爱好，迷失在痛苦与悲伤之中的歌与母亲之间的关系越来越紧张。
一次偶然中，歌结识了名叫和音（松山健一 饰）的男孩，和音正在备考音乐学院，拥有着共同语言的两人很快便成为了朋友。在歌的支持和鼓励之下，和音顺利通过了考试，之后却又因为钢琴水平起伏不定而成为了半吊子老师御子柴（串田和美 饰）的学生，御子柴曾经是光一郎的好友，通过她，和音逐渐了解了歌的家族的秘密与命运。

1974年，为给儿子灿秀的李安成（井坂俊哉 饰）来到东京投奔叔父（风间杜夫 饰），结果在火车站遭遇近藤（桐谷健太 饰）与朝鲜学生的大混战。乱斗之中，青年国铁司机佐藤政一（藤井隆 饰）出手打伤近藤，结果被公司辞退，他却因此和安成及其朝鲜亲朋们熟稔。安成的妹妹庆子（中村友理 饰）美丽清纯，她鼓起勇气进军演艺圈。谁知这个圈子光怪陆离，龙蛇混杂，从最初的抵触反感，经历了身心挫折的庆子选择朝着虚幻的荣光前行。另一方面，灿秀的病情不断恶化，为了带他前往美国接受最先进的治疗，安成和佐藤寻找各种赚钱的机会，在这一过程中难免走入灰色地带。

In the near future of a Japan, the ancient 'Act of Vengeance' is revived and professional executioners are permitted to kill criminals by the requests from their victims. People who are to be executed are notified of the execution time and date in advance and they are allowed to have their own guard.

Yutaka was fourteen years old when he was run over by a car and fell into a coma. Now, ten years later, he wakes up and realizes that his family is not intact anymore: father, mother and sister live at different places. Yutaka decides to re-open the pony farm that his family once ran.
