影片中没有出现任何神魔鬼怪或者灵异现象，传说中的怪兽也未出现，观众所能目睹的血案全由人类自己造成。相对于其他装神弄鬼的恐怖片，这部20分钟的短片将恐惧的来源模糊化，转而用人性的不可捉摸和密闭空间促进剧情发展，再加上血浆满地的cult场景，给人带了一场小小的刺激。
除了《紧急迫升》、《立方体》，文森佐后来拍摄的《人兽杂交》，都是通过挖掘人性的弱点和一些偶然性因素，来营造恐怖气氛或者制造话题。
