该作采用《无主之地2》引擎，设定1代与2代之间，剧情为反派Jack是如何变坏的，主角们刚开始会帮助他，然后才成为邪恶的Boss。
地点为潘多拉的月球，新角色将与Jack并肩作战，因为星球的原因，玩家需要收集氧气，不过跳跃距离也增加了，当然也可以借助其他装备。
