In late 1980s New York, a theater artist living with AIDS takes on one possibly last great role.

The story follows Garance, who’s a young actress but not a star. Brave, joyful and resilient, she manages things as best she can, finding fuel and unconditional comfort in alcohol. Garance subsequently changes her life and sets out on an eight-year journey of relocations, work, encounters, parties, anxieties, joyful moments and harsh blows… She embarks upon an intimate, friendship-focused and sexual revolution, but she continues to drink increasing amounts.
