Claudio lives in Rome and is an aspiring mechanic in conflict with is father, who wants his son to work for him in his car demolition company. Stefano, the owner of a garage, recognises the boy's talent in working with engines and involves him in the underground world of clandestine car racing (the scenario is Ostia's coastline). When Claudio meets Giovanna, who works in a bar and dreams of going back to school, he ends up in neglecting his work for Stefano who needs his help to win an important race and pay back a huge debt.
