"Blackstar" (stylised as "★") is a song by English rock musician David Bowie. It was released as the lead single from his upcoming twenty-fifth studio album of the same name on 20 November 2015 through iTunes. "Blackstar" peaked at number 70 on the French Singles Chart.
The song was originally over eleven minutes long, but Bowie and Visconti edited it down to 9:57, making it Bowie's second-longest track ever made, behind "Station to Station", which lasts just over ten minutes. This was done after they learned that iTunes would not post singles over ten minutes in length. Bowie did not wish to confuse listeners by releasing different single and album versions. "Blackstar" is an art rock and jazztronica song. Also described as a "avant jazz sci-fi torch song," it features a "drum and bass rhythm, a two-note tonal melody inspired by Gregorian chant and shifting time signatures." In the middle section, the song turns from a acid house-ish style to a sax solo to a bluesy slow middle section.

A very nice compilation disc. The majority of the songs are from the Marquee Club, in excellent stereo sound quality! All of the other songs are studio versions, except for MY DEATH. REBEL REBEL and GOLDEN YEARS are so called "dry mixes" made for Top Of The Pops. DODO is a recording with Bowie and Lulu on vocals. The three YOUNG AMERICANS songs are alternative studio takes.

"Heroes" is the 12th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records on 14 October 1977. The second installment of his Berlin Trilogy recorded with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti, "Heroes" continued the ambient experiments of Bowie's previous album Low (released earlier that year) and featured the contributions of King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.[5] Of the three albums, it was the only one wholly recorded in Berlin.

In 2003, a 2-disc version was released by EMI/Virgin. The second in a series of 30th Anniversary 2CD Editions, as with the Ziggy Stardust 2-disc set, this release includes a remastered version of the first disc. The second disc contains ten tracks, a few of which had been previously released on CD as bonus tracks of the 1990–92 reissues.
