当红女歌星（李惠敏饰）随剧组到一荒凉小岛上为新歌的MV拍摄取景，坐在船中休息时总觉得水中有异物。
小岛上住着为数不多的几户居民，民风淳朴却也相当愚昧。
随着拍摄进程的不断，剧组内开始怪事不断。剧组人员周围总会突然莫名出现一奇怪的黑衣男子（古天乐饰）不断打探“阿莹”的下落。与此同时，荒山野岭内常有一长发怪人身影出没，嚎叫不断，让人毛骨悚然。
一日，女歌星与导演再次撞到黑衣男子，大胆询问之下，男子道出了岛上的一段往事......
本片宣称没有黑夜的鬼片，所有外景都是在白天完成，有其独特之处。

妙莲将患有智力障碍的儿子阿辉（葛民辉 饰）留在庙街，自己远赴加拿大结婚。在庙街，是善良的阿炳（许志安 饰）一家人精心照料着阿辉。雯雯（朱茵 饰）暗恋阿炳多时，然而阿炳的心却系在另一名女子身上，这让雯雯感到十分伤心。
某日，一场意外让医生发现了生长在阿辉脑中的肿瘤，将其切除，哪知道没有了肿瘤，阿辉竟然获得了能够预知未来的能力，一时之间在庙街炙手可热。妙莲回来了，然而阿辉的心中怨恨母亲当年抛弃自己，对母亲十分冷淡诸多刁难。与此同时，阿辉得知自己将在不久之后打回原形，在雯雯和妙莲的支持和鼓励之下，阿辉接受了这一事实，并和不离不弃的母亲化解了恩怨。

许记烧鸭是香港街头尽人皆知的风味美食，虽然店铺寒酸，装潢陈旧，但是凭借老板老许（许冠文 饰）那一手出色的烧鸭技巧，依然引得众多食客前来大快朵颐。店内生意兴隆，但老许对待下面的员工却甚为苛刻。无休止的加班、可怜的薪水，员工们怨声载道，反被老许巧言令色蒙骗过去。不过就在某一天，许记烧鸭的灾难来了。对门的店铺开了一家西式炸鸡店，老板丹尼（吴启华 饰）以先进的理念推广他的西式快餐，很快便将老许的客人抢了去。危机当头，老许想出各种办法应对，而丹尼也意欲将烧鸭店置于死地……

Kung is so happy that he spends a tremendous amount of money. When he realizes he is in huge debt, he pretends to go insane and the whole family believes him.
