Yoriko, an artist living in rural Nagi, is haunted by a former love affair she cannot bear to mourn. When Yuri, a recently separated architect, travels from Tokyo to visit her friend and former sister-in-law, both women find themselves at a crossroad, each searching for ways to let go of the past and define their identities. Yuri's brief escape from the city settles into a quiet confrontation of loss and probing for the two women in bucolic Nagi.

世界3大映画祭の1つに数えられ、今年はフランス現地時間5月13日から24日に開催されるカンヌ国際映画祭。深田は監督作の「淵に立つ」が同映画祭のある視点部門で審査員賞を受賞した経験を持つ。「恋愛裁判」が出品されるカンヌ・プレミアは「コンペティションの枠には収まりきれない良作を集める部門」とされている。

「恋愛裁判」では契約書に記載された恋愛禁止ルールに反する行動をしたとして、所属事務所から契約違反と訴えられ裁判へと発展した1人の女性アイドルの姿を描く。深田は企画・脚本・監督を兼任し、「本気のしるし」「アイドル失格」を手がけた三谷伸太朗が共同脚本として参加した。

Japan, 2022. Mai, 22, belongs to a moderately successful idol girl group called Happy Fanfare, aka HappiFan. Kei, also 22, is a university student working as a part-time camera operator. On the night he is assigned to film a HappiFan show, Kei recognizes Mai from his junior high school. This coincidental meeting thrills them both. Although Kei has no interest in "idols", he finds himself drawn to Mai as he films the group on stage. Soon the two fall in love. However, their romance has to be kept secret because Mai's contract stipulates a "No boys" clause. Still, Mai is happily in love and enjoys her profession. But that changes when a tabloid reports that a HappiFan member has a boyfriend. Nanaka, 19, has violated the "No boys" rule so she loses her regular role in the girl group. As she gives her fans a teary apology, Kei realises that his relationship with Mai could jeopardise her career, and so he retreats. Breaking up isn't easy for Mai but she tries to understand Kei's intention and to move on. Their love is rekindled when a fan goes berserk at a HappiFan event. Worried, Kei immediately drives to the venue when he hears the news. When Mai sees him, they take off in Kei's mini truck despite her manager's attempts to stop her. A few months later, Mai is no longer with HappiFan. Because of the "No boys" clause, the HappiFan management sues both her and Kei. Although both Mai and Kei engage lawyers, the court proceedings are overwhelming. As Mai lives with Kei in his apartment and works part-time, she has less contact with the HappiFan members. Then the management proposes a settlement deal to end the trial. Kei wishes to put the lawsuit behind them and start over together. Despite being still bothered by the implications of the "No boys" rule, Mai considers accepting the deal.

「ほとりの朔子」「淵に立つ」などが海外の映画祭で受賞を果たし、国内外で注目される深田晃司監督が手がけた短編作品。深田監督の長編「海を駆ける」の公開を記念した特集上映「深田晃司映画まつり2018」（18年6月16～29日／シアター・イメージフォーラム）のために製作された短編で、とあるラブホテルを舞台に、事におよぼうとする男と女に起こる出来事を描いた。

フランスの文豪オノレ・ド・バルザックの巨大作品群「人間喜劇」の中の1編「ざくろ屋敷」を、画家・深澤研による約70枚のテンペラ画と、古楽器を用いた美しい音楽によって表現したアートアニメ。19世紀フランス。ロワール河近くの丘陵地帯に建つ「ざくろ屋敷」に、美しい母親と2人の男の子が引っ越してくる。母子は3人だけで穏やかな日々を送っていたが、実は母親には死期が迫っていた。声優には、志賀廣太郎ら劇団青年団の俳優たちを起用。

In suburban Tokyo, the Kobayashis – Mikio, his young second wife Natsuki, and his young adolescent daughter Eriko, who was borne out of his first marriage – live in a small flat above the family printing business. Mikio inherited the business and the flat from his father who passed away two years ago. Temporarily living with them is Mikio’s divorced sister Seiko, who is there until she decides what to do, which is in her mind – unrealistically – to go abroad to learn English. Their rather dull and staid lives are punctuated by Eriko’s pet parakeet having recently flown away, it which they are scouring the neighborhood looking for, and their neighbors organizing a neighborhood watch to keep out undesirables, namely foreigners who they believe are causing no good to their society. Into their lives stumbles Hanataro Kagawa, the son of their father’s old friend. Before they know it, Kagawa has talked his way into a job working at the print shop and room and board in their flat.

劇作家・平田オリザの主宰する劇団青年団の演出部に所属する深田晃司監督が、フランスの文豪バルザックの作品群「人間喜劇」に着想を得て手がけた長編映画。ダンサーのサインを求めるファンの女性2人が雨の夜の街を駆け抜ける「白猫」、アマチュアカメラマンの女性が開いた個展の一日を通じて友情への期待と失望を描く「写真」、右腕を事故で失った夫とその妻との間に横たわる溝を描き出す「右腕」の3編で構成。

夏のはじめ、正午をやや過ぎたころ──郊外のある街。断片的に重ねられる日常の風景から物語は始まります。姉を事故で失った和泉は、橋の下で暮らす似顔絵描きの老人と知り合い、絵のモデルを頼まれる。一方で老人はある朝人形を拾ったことから小学生の孝史と出会う。孝史はテレクラのサクラで生計を立てる母と二人暮しであった。
同じ街に暮らす人々が、多くを語ることなく静かに抱いている、それぞれの屈折。それらが一瞬の結びつきをもち、やがて解けていく短い季節を、豊かな緑・川の流れ・夏の陽射し・水面の光などに象徴される郊外の風景の中に描き出した群像ドラマです。
出演は、平田オリザ主催の青年団で活躍中の井上三奈子。Bluff Show Projectに所属し関西の演劇シーンで活躍する森脇麻衣子。石原慎太郎原作のＴＶドラマ『弟』で裕次郎の甥っこ役に抜擢された子役・小林亮太。鶴田法雄監督作品『案山子』他、多くの映画作品で活躍中の細原好雄らの好演を得ています。

「歓待」「ほとりの朔子」などで注目される深田晃司監督が、2013年・第5回沖縄国際映画祭の「地域発信型プロジェクト」で上映される「地域発信型映画」の1作品として、三重県いなべ市の人々とともに作り上げた短編作品。養豚場で働く智広のもとに、姉の直子が赤ちゃんを連れて17年ぶりに帰ってくる。理由をたずねても素っ気ないだけの直子だったが、ある日突然、子どもの頃に2人で埋めた「何か」を掘り起こしに行こうと言いだす。仕方なくついていった智広の胸中には、次第に幼い頃に姉と過ごした日々の思い出がよみがえってくる。主演はお笑いコンビ「ハイキングウォーキング」の松田洋昌と元宝塚の女優・倉田あみ。
