Murakawa, an aging Tokyo yakuza tiring of gangster life, is sent by his boss to Okinawa along with a few of his henchmen to help end a gang war, supposedly as mediators between two warring clans. He finds that the dispute between the clans is insignificant and whilst wondering why he was sent to Okinawa at all, his group is attacked in an ambush. The survivors flee and make a decision to lay low at the beach while they await further instructions.

The film tells the story of a Drive-In worker and a young tramp who has been left alone by her boyfriend somewhere in Hokkaido. Things seem to work out at the beginning but as time goes by the newly formed relationship between the tramp and the Drive-In worker starts to show the workers harmful will of possession, which finally leads to the somehow sad but also optimistically interpretable ending.

Looking like a third-rate salary man, the slightly dumpy Michio (Dankan) has reached his mid-thirties without ever joining the mob, confessing fear about life as a yakuza. Yoichi (Osawa Takao), the wild country boy from Shikoku he recruits, fits in better with that violence-prone world. But he is both too unruly to accept rigid gang hierarchies and too uncontrollable to go straight.
