In the jungle, the krahô people withstand the destruction of their world and their way of life. Little Patpro has begun to have dreams that scare her; in them, their ancestors’ sorrow is still latent. Her mother follows the news from Brasilia, where a new generation of women warriors fight for their rights. Her uncle looks after the community while he waits for her child to be born; like other women in the family, she will carry a name that is a mark of resistance. Between documentary and fiction, Crowrã seeks to build a cinematic language able to give shape to the krahô’s experience, in which past and present, myths and dreams, rituals and oral stories are part of the same vital fabric. It is a formal and narrative search that takes an ethical and political stance, and in which the krahô are narrators of their story rather than a phenomenon to be examined.
