故事从一个“寻找艾薇儿妹妹”的选秀活动开始。当选后就能获得与艾薇儿同台唱歌的机会，于是从美国回来的小池南参加了本次海选。
在海选中每当选手被问及参赛理由时，大部分的回答是“崇拜艾薇儿”，而南则说“要为姐姐报仇”，由此引起了评委们的注意，而她的另一个目的则是“夺回其他选手拥有的玩偶"，评委们认为她不正常而大笑。
在海选现场的导演助理井上负责对南的跟拍，在这个过程中，他渐渐理解了她说的话。这个“罗密欧”的玩偶是能实现愿望的恶魔，原本在双胞胎姐姐花手中。在最后一次选拔中，南在地下室发现了与罗密欧说话的女生，顺势夺回了罗密欧后，许下了最后的愿望“让罗密欧消失”。最终落选的她将罗密欧丢入了河中。
