瓦伦丁再度受刑，莫林纳为他包扎伤口，他幻想奥罗拉和他一起包扎。监狱长告诉莫林纳，他的母亲患上重病，只要他招供瓦伦丁的女友名字，他就可以出狱看望她。莫林纳没有招供，他告诉瓦伦丁自己爱上了一个叫加布里埃尔（Gabriel）的侍者。
几天后，因为吃了有毒食物，莫林纳开始呕吐痉挛，他因此进了医院。待她出院，瓦伦丁同样因食物中毒生病，监狱长告诉他，只要招供就可以进医院，瓦伦丁当然不愿意招供，于是他求助于莫林纳，希望借用他的故事帮助自己忘却痛苦。
两个人终于开始了真正的交流。莫林纳带来好消息，因为表现良好，他被提前释放，瓦伦丁希望他帮助自己传达一些消息，莫林纳犹豫着答应了。
几天后，莫林纳遍体鳞伤回到牢房，原来这是监狱长的计谋，他估计到一旦莫林纳出狱，会帮瓦伦丁传递绝密消息，因此派人跟踪，莫林纳果然传达了重要消息。为了逼迫他招供，监狱长对他施加酷刑，并声称如果不招供，将被枪决。莫林纳告诉瓦伦丁自己爱上了他，然后毅然走向处决室。在他的幻想中，奥罗拉扮演的蜘蛛女向他献上死亡之吻。
