He starts out working at a warehouse for a gangster where he helps to relocate illegal contraband, and because of his ruthlessness and dependability he begins to ascend the ladder of organized crime. Of course, the more powerful he becomes, the more "Climbers" come out of the shadows to take his place.

The Savage Three are three young men, fresh into the world, who work together at a computer analysis company. All three appear to be calm, level-headed, well-educated young men with the world at their fingertips. They are best friends, working together by day & playfully carousing at night. Dominating their carousing is Ovidio Mainardi, played by the handsome Joe Dallesandro. Ovid is married to a beautiful woman who is never home - she is a doctor who has put her career ahead of her marriage. As Ovid wiles away his days in front of a computer, doing repetitive, monotonous computations, he constantly glances at white mice kept trapped in a glass cage in the facility in which he works. He watches the mice as they trample each other wildly; he begins to ponder his own inner feelings of entrapment. His own frustration at being in a loveless marriage and monotone job boils over into lawlessness when he and his buddies cross the line from carousing to crime. Fango Bollente, also known as Savage Three and Hot Mud, follows these three handsome, young men through the busy streets of downtown Rome as they act out their frustrations in raw acts of violence. This Italian film is a treat for any Joe Dallensandro fan - he is completely unlikable as the complacently conniving & cruel Ovidio.

This film looks at the 1950's muscle men's magazines and the representative industry that were popular supposedly as health and fitness magazines, but were in reality primarily being purchased by the still underground homosexual community. Chief among the purveyors of this literature was Bob Mizer (Daniel MacIvor), who maintained a magazine and developed sexually inexplicit men's films for over 40 years. Aided by his mother (Carroll Godsman), the two maintained a stable of not so innocent studs. At the end, the film moves into a court room drama as Mizer is tried for running a male-prostitute ring in the early 60's. Clips of Mizer's actual films starring individuals, such as Jack LaLanne and Joe Dallesandro, are included.

The story goes that Maria’s father is presumed dead and some four million dollars left in his care are unaccounted for. Maria’s elusive sister Liz (Danièle Gegauff, a producer on Out 1 and star of a single Chabrol film) summons Maria and Joe (Liz’s boyfriend) but fails to show up herself, so these two meet and go on an adventure together. Liz shows up briefly, along with a bunch more characters, each of whom want to help either Maria or her possibly-alive father, or more likely, want a share of the money. Most suspicious is Shirley (Sylvie Matton, whose husband directed her and Udo Kier in his adult horror Spermula), who is possibly either Liz’s best friend, the father’s ex-lover, Joe’s sister or none of the above.
The movie seems to fits neatly in the Rivette filmography, with on-camera musicians like predecessor Duelle, and a couple of characters chasing around the country trying to solve a possibly imagined mystery a la follow-up Pont du Nord. But there are some wrinkles. The grasp on the mystery is soon lost and Joe and Maria ramble, their relationship growing increasingly unpleasant, then the plot returns with a puzzling vengeance in the last half hour. Plus there are unexplained fantasy scenes, with Joe and a suspiciously Maria-like girl (played by Hermine Karagheuz, Marie in Out 1) chasing each other through forests and deserts, with appearances by snakes, rifles and a mounted armored knight.
