匆忙浮躁的都市中，四个与音乐相关的男男女女看似偶然般地邂逅了，他们分别是第一小提琴手卷真纪（松隆子 饰）、大提琴手世吹雀（满岛光 饰）、中提琴手家森谕高（高桥一生 饰）以及第二提琴手别府司（松田龙平 饰）。仿佛是对音乐的共同志向，他们组建了名为“甜甜圈洞”的四重奏乐队，暂时落脚于别府家位于轻井泽的别墅，过起了与世隔绝的人生。然而四个人终究无法超脱世俗存在，除了最基本的吃饭问题，每个人似乎都被各自的秘密所牵扯纠缠。其中雀与真纪“邂逅”的原因，恰恰正是因为真纪丈夫的不辞而别。

在大片厂制度无可救药沦陷的上世纪70年代，松田优作凭借在电视剧集《向太阳呼喊（太陽にほえろ!）》中的精彩表演引起业内外广泛关注。有感于日本电影只给海外观众留下“武士”、“剑戟”的印象，他和一干电影人努力寻求突破，打造更符合时代潮流的时尚动作片，并奉献出《人证（人間の証明）》、《最危险的游戏（最も危険な遊戯）》、《苏醒的金狼（蘇える金狼）》、《家族游戏（家族ゲーム）》、《其后（それから）》等经典名作。在拍摄好莱坞影片《黑雨》期间，松田经诊断得知患有膀胱癌。次年（1989）11月6日去世，享年40岁。
本片为松田优作诞辰60周年暨逝世20周年纪念作品，并邀请浅野忠信、香川照之、宫藤官九郎、仲村亨、松田龙平、松田翔太、Andy Garcia、森田芳光、黑泽满等业内外亲朋好友共同回首这位性格演员短暂辉煌的一生。

Shinji and Masaru spend most of their school days harassing fellow classmates and playing pranks. They drop out and Shinji becomes a small-time boxer, while Masaru joins up with a local yakuza gang. However, the world is a tough place.

A look at the lives of two prostitutes in Tokyo: Rei, who works as an S&M dominatrix, and Ayumi, in the more straightforward profession of call girl. In addition to their working life, the film also looks at their private lives. Rei is acting in an amateur theatre company along with the receptionist from Ayumi's escort service, while Ayumi is living with her student-boyfriend as he struggles to finally get accepted to college.
