本剧讲述大明使节云靖（曹培昌 饰）奉命出使瓦剌，遭到瓦剌的汉人丞相张宗周（达式常 饰）陷害而被扣留并放逐到漠北苦地牧羊。20年后，瓦剌与大明修好，云靖得以回归大明故土。因为云靖知道张宗周"复国"的大秘密，而被他的手下杀死在雁门关下，云靖的孙女云蕾（范冰冰 饰）和张宗周的儿子张丹枫（黄海冰 饰）初次相遇并亲眼目睹了这一惨剧。于是，云蕾背负着祖辈的深仇与张丹枫之间展开一段爱恨情仇，感人肺腑荡气回肠的故事。

第一部分：经过了将近两百年的沉睡，卖萌耍宝的猪八戒（黄海波 饰）意外被铁扇公主（韩雪 饰）唤醒，他误将对方认作小龙女，一路尾随，谁知竟卷入了天庭征讨牛魔王（王学兵 饰）的行动中。铁扇以卧底身份潜入牛头山，痴心的八戒追随“小龙女”而来，由此引出一连串的意外。第二部分：美艳女妖锦毛鼠（范冰冰 饰）初次闯荡江湖，谁知稀里糊涂就被猪八戒夺去了初吻，古灵精怪的妖精碰上憨态可掬的胖神仙，有趣的故事接连上演。第三部分：猪八戒在千年不遇的流星雨中遭遇意外，导致他的影子从本体分离出去，变成了影子猪。影子猪反客为主，导致八戒只得远远逃遁，来到曼陀罗国，但是他的磨难并未就此结束。

南北朝时期，秦叔宝（黄海冰饰）幼年父亲便惨遭杀害，更目睹隋兵肆意欺压百姓的世态，立志行侠仗义，后于在山东历城当了一名捕快，人称小孟尝。隋唐末年，隋文帝次子杨广（谢君豪饰）欲谋篡位，李渊为了避难，携全家离京返乡，途中幸得秦叔宝搭救。秦叔宝到达山东不久，杨广谋便篡夺了皇位。被判重刑的程咬金（林子聪饰）出狱后，与绿林好汉单雄信（任山饰）劫富济贫粉碎了隋军的多次征讨。深谋远虑的李世民（郑国霖饰）广纳贤才，招纳秦叔宝、程咬金、罗成（聂远饰）、徐茂公（谭建昌饰）、尉迟恭（寇占文饰）、裴元庆（释小龙饰)等英雄好汉率兵扫平了十八路反王。瓦岗寨起义后，群雄协力助李世民平定天下。
本部以民间传说及历史故事综合改编的古装侠义电视剧《隋唐英雄传》，以南北朝时期，隋文帝一统天下始至李世民玄武门之变为历史背景，围绕唐朝护国公秦叔宝为核心人物，讲述秦叔宝、罗成、程咬金、单雄信、尉迟恭隋唐五虎等英雄人物匡扶正义的传奇故事。剧中还增加了李蓉蓉、单冰冰两位花容月貌的人物演绎群雄争战中的儿女情长。

Based on a novel by Gu Long, Frankie Chan's A Warrior's Tragedy details the parallel stories of two warriors: one trained to love, the other to hate, both to be superior swordsman. On one side of this twisty tale of murder and revenge lies the dark and brooding Fu Hung-Suet (Ti Lung). Dressed from head to toe in basic black, Fu wanders from town to town, dispatching his enemies with his impressive ebony sabre. On the other end of the spectrum is the happy-go-lucky Yip Hoi (Frankie Chan), a cheeky, mustachioed fellow who dresses in white and happens to be a proficient martial artist. As one would expect, the two contrasting swordsman are locked on a proverbial collision course with destiny as both are invited to the home of the villainous Ma Hong-Kwan, who has a sinister connection to our heroes.

An assassin who is fresh from his latest kill becomes stranded in an island, when he inadvertently befriends a female police officer. As the night progresses, the unspoken truth honored by the two sides of the law is broken. After the remains of a body that belonged to a drug lord and syndicate crime leader are found, chaos ensues and criminals ravage the once peaceful streets in a race against time to find the mysterious murderer that's loose and out for blood.

清朝道光年间，年轻人杨昱乾（吴京 饰）一直跟随师傅修习外家拳，因受先天条件限制，一直没能修炼到登峰造极的境界。因此，师傅建议他改为修炼内家拳，可惜杨昱乾一直没有机会。一次，杨昱乾的父亲回来摆寿时被人上门破坏，杨父迁怒于师傅没有好好教杨昱乾，于是赶走了师傅。随后杨父前往找人晦气时被官府逮住，回来后自觉没脸在家而外出了。而没了师傅的杨昱乾为了修习武艺，也辞别了母亲外出拜师学艺。
杨昱乾来到了京城，因为人老实而且没有出过远门，他被人骗光了钱财，只好到一家花店当伙计。一日，花店收到订单拍杨昱乾送一批花篮到漕帮帮主的灵堂。在灵堂上，杨昱乾遇到了前来拜祭的高手董海川，想拜他为师，无奈海川此时有事要办，无法答应，不过海川再次指出杨昱乾的天资应该修习内家拳。随后，陈氏太极高手陈正英（于海 饰）的女儿陈少琪（樊亦敏 饰）代父前来拜祭，此时恰逢漕帮众人为了争夺帮主之位而大打出手，其中一伙竟然还劫持了已故帮主的妻儿。杨昱乾看不过眼，出手相助，被众人打伤。危急关头陈少琪以太极拳相救，帮主夫人趁乱救出了杨昱乾。杨昱乾获救后决心找寻太极高手学艺……

A Hong Kong cop named Kit busts a major gangster only to find his cover blown and his main witness gone. The gangster, in retaliation, has him kidnapped and put in a Thai jail with a false criminal identity. Lowly prison guard Chai, with his extraordinary fighting skills, guards Kit and prevents his escape. The prison guard’s daughter suffers from a rare form of leukemia and Kit is the only donor who can save her. The prison guard discovers Kit’s real identity and helps him to escape in return for his agreeing to save his daughter. Together, Kit and Chai must face and take down the gangster and his minions.
