In this humorous paean to the joys of food, a pair of truck drivers happen onto a decrepit roadside shop selling ramen noodles. The widowed owner, Tampopo, begs them to help her turn her establishment into a paragon of the "art of noodle-soup making". Interspersed are satirical vignettes about the importance of food to different aspects of human life.

「ＣＵＲＥ」「カリスマ」の黒沢清監督最新作「アカルイミライ」の制作過程をつぶさに捉えた異色ドキュメンタリー。「森山大道」で注目された藤井謙二郎が、「アカルイミライ」の撮影現場に密着、黒沢監督へのインタビューを中心に、出演者やスタッフのコメントを織り交ぜ、映画監督黒沢清の創造の秘密に鋭く迫る。
今や世界が注目する監督の一人となった黒沢清の「回路」以来２年振りとなる新作「アカルイミライ」が2002年4月10日にクランクインした。主演のオダギリジョーはじめ、浅野忠信、藤竜也はみな初の黒沢作品への出演であり、それぞれが初顔合わせ。そんな中、撮影は東京を中心におよそ３週間に渡って行われた。その撮影現場の一部始終を藤井謙二郎のカメラが捉える。さらに、本作では「アカルイミライ」撮影中に撮られたメイキング映像そのものを見せながら、黒沢監督自らにその時の心境を語らせる独自の手法を用い、より具体的で率直な思いを引き出していく。

Yutaka was fourteen years old when he was run over by a car and fell into a coma. Now, ten years later, he wakes up and realizes that his family is not intact anymore: father, mother and sister live at different places. Yutaka decides to re-open the pony farm that his family once ran.

The film stars two of Itami's regular actors, Nobuko Miyamoto as a geisha who brings luck to the men with whom she sleeps, and Masahiko Tsugawa as her unfaithful, sometimes partner. As well as showing her relationships with the man she loves and the men who employ her, it satirizes corruption and the influence of money in Japanese politics.

A detective starts spiraling out of control when a wave of gruesome murders with seemingly similar bizarre circumstances is sweeping Tokyo.
