《七面人》是一部侠义奇情电影，卖点就在主角姜大卫一人分饰多角，他千变万化的造型让人眼界大开。本片由鲍学礼导演，他是江苏人，1936年出生于南京，1949年到台湾，年青时半时半工半读，日间在三极高工上课，晚上在台湾电影制片厂印片间工作，毕业后在台制工作六年，助理摄影师。1967年赴港正式任邵氏公司摄影师三年，主要拍摄岳枫、张彻的作品。1970年开始升任导演，首作为《太阴指》，其后有多部影片与张彻合导。1977年脱离邵氏，回台湾为燕升等公司拍武侠片，并与妻靳蜀美合组裕丰公司拍片，多数为夫导妻编之作，主要作品有《万箭穿心》、《的士司机》、《二等兵》等。
