突贯小僧，是小津安二郎导演的第十二部作品。故事灵感来自欧亨利的短篇小说《红酋长的赎金》，剧中描述绑匪绑架小孩后却反被小孩欺负，最后落荒而逃。本剧的原作者「野津忠二」为野田高梧、小津安二郎、大久保忠素、池田忠雄的共同笔名，据说只花了三天就拍好这部片子。1929年上映，黑白默片，原片长三十八分钟，现存残本虽然仅剩十四分钟，但仍可看出全剧的重要脉络。
小主角青木富夫一片成名，从此改名突贯小僧，意即「向你撞过来的男孩」，就是《我出生了，但...》的小儿子。

拍完《开心地走吧》事隔三年，日本人对黑帮爱情片热潮未减，小津再碰这个类型，心态和技巧已别于从前，人物感情转趋复杂与悲情，画面一景一物的安排尽见巧思。延续前作角色，讲黑帮大佬与一好一坏两女人之间的情仇，但这次黑帮与坏女人同给好女人吸引过去，黑帮最后亦没有离弃坏女人。也许为了增加剧情说服力，小津找来田中绢代做女主角，坏女孩果然恶得含蓄，有时更会楚楚可怜。可惜绢代刚演过深入民心的《伊豆舞娘》，坏女人形像不给当时观众受落。小津将黑帮片类型玩得出神入化，不少人觉得这是他默片巅峰之作。(第27届香港国际电影节)

In Depression-era Tokyo, a struggling middle-aged single father with a young son comes across a homeless young lady and convinces a bar owner to take her in.

Tetsuo Nomoto, a young graduated student tries to find a decent job by himself. Later on, he will marry his girlfriend, Machiko, whom he hides the fact that he has no job. Hardships come quickly, which forces Machiko to find a job in a bar.

著名外国小说改编，讲快乐的学生王子爱上酒馆女郎。小津的学生王子纵使率性依然，却没法再无忧无虑下去，影片的情感大幅转移在穷学生那忧郁的脸孔上。学生王子做了社长后，把同学都弄到公司里，但彼此关系开始因阶级有别而质变。小津最后一部以学生和小职员为题的作品，标志著由喜入悲的开始。

曾经的问题青年冈岛伸二（冈田时彦 饰）终于长成了大人，他走入社会，在东京一家保险公司谋得一份差使。他兢兢业业工作，和妻子（八运惠美子 饰）、一双儿女（菅原秀雄 & 高峰秀子 饰）以及尚在襁褓中的娃娃共同构筑了一个平凡的小家庭。当然冈岛并未改变热血正义的本性，他原本答应在发奖金的当天给儿子卖一辆崭新的自行车，可是在发钱当天却为了庇护被解雇的老员工山田（坂本武 饰）而和社长发生冲突，于是遭到开除的厄运。为了维持生计，他每天外出找工作，可是当下的日本经济极端不景气，这里那里都失业严重。经职业介绍所安排，他在曾经的魔鬼体育老师大村（齐藤达雄 饰）开的饭馆找到了机会。

A silk factory worker is persuaded to support her son's education up to a college level despite their poverty. Many years later, she travels to Tokyo to visit her son.

An affluent medical professor, Komiya, and his bossy wife, Tokio, are to look after Setsuko, their high-spirited niece from Osaka. Setsuko is a liberated woman who does what she wants, including smoking, even though she is a minor. On Saturday, the professor does not feel like going to his weekend golf game, but his wife packs him off anyway. So he leaves his bag at the apartment of his student Okada, and goes to a bar with a friend. Setsuko traces him there, and insists that he take her to a geisha house. When she gets rather tipsy, the professor calls Okada to take her home, while he sleeps at Okada's. The wife becomes suspicious of Setsuko when she sees Okada bringing her home, and also of her husband when she discovers that he did not go golfing.

A lighthearted take on director Yasujiro Ozu’s perennial theme of the challenges of inter­generational relationships, Good Morning tells the story of two young boys who stop speaking in protest after their parents refuse to buy a television set. Ozu weaves a wealth of subtle gags through a family portrait as rich as those of his dramatic films, mocking the foibles of the adult world through the eyes of his child protagonists. Shot in stunning color and set in a suburb of Tokyo where housewives gossip about the neighbors’ new washing machine and unemployed husbands look for work as door-to-door salesmen, this charming comedy refashions Ozu’s own silent classic I Was Born, But . . . to gently satirize consumerism in postwar Japan.

Setsuko is in an unhappy marriage to Mimura, an unemployed, alcoholic engineer. She had always been in love with Hiroshi but both failed to propose when Hiroshi left for France a few years ago. But now he's back and Mariko tries to reunite them, although she too is secretly in love with Hiroshi.

After the death of her husband, an elderly woman and her youngest, unmarried daughter are forced to sell their house to cover his debts and decide to move in with one of the former's children, each of whom is scarcely happy to accommodate.
