《极限17 滑魂》主要讲述了抑郁症少年杨步凡在爱上滑板以后，与滑板兄妹陈晞明Abby、陈晞文Simon、心理医生苏立珊慢慢相识相知结为好友，在几位朋友的帮助下走出心理困境、收获成长与友谊的故事，剧集整体传递出了打破青春迷惘、与自己达成和解的积极向上的生活态度。

《会考试的猛犸象》是一个现实主义的故事，讲述了在命运之手翻覆下，小人物们的困境与抉择。影片主要有两条脉络，一面讲述的是男主人公苏正洋的成长历程。少年的青春有轻蔑，有懵懂，有残酷，有喜悦，片中的男主角苏正洋仿佛是每个青春期男孩的缩影，这种叛逆与忧愁是无关年代的，它实实在在地印刻在每个相仿年纪的孩子身上。他们会有对规则的淡漠、对于爱情青涩懵懂的向往、对于自我意识的迷茫和寻找。另一面则刻画了苏正洋的父亲苏青源，一个濒临破产的小老板的转变。苏青源的扮演者周征波表示，“这是一个有着个人行为准则却又无情地被排除在现实行为准则之外的人物。”他对生活曾经抱有近乎天真的期望，却被命运逼迫着一步步打破自己的道德底线，直至彻底地沉沦。
