Changes that reverberated throughout the world wrought by one man. A film summing-up the life of a man who changed the world in the 20th century. Gorbachev's short time in power was marked by the collapse of this empire. He was the architect of Glasnost and Perestroika, policies that gave the citizens of the Soviet Union - what Ronald Reagan called "the Evil Empire" - a chance to be free. He tore down the Berlin Wall. But at the same time, under his rule, the Chernobyl nuclear facility exploded and its destruction was concealed. Citizens demanding independence in the Baltic states died. Soldiers wielding shovels brutally suppressed protesters in Tbilisi. And Soviet tanks menaced, and killed, peaceful demonstrators in Baku. The Soviet empire collapsed under him - and he is condemned by his own people. With this burden of the past, this lonely old man is living the last days of his life in an empty house in the suburbs near Moscow.

Documentary which tells the extraordinary unknown story of how the Beatles helped to destroy the USSR.
In August 1962, director Leslie Woodhead made a two-minute film in Liverpool's Cavern Club with a raw and unrecorded group of rockers called the Beatles. He arranged their first live TV appearances on a local show in Manchester and watched as the Fab Four phenomenon swept the world.
Twenty-five years later while making films in Russia, Woodhead became aware of how, even though they were never able to play in the Soviet Union, the Beatles' legend had soaked into the lives of a generation of kids. This film meets the Soviet Beatles generation and hears their stories about how the Fab Four changed their lives, including Putin's deputy premier Sergei Ivanov, who explains how the Beatles helped him learn English and showed him another life.
The Soviet authorities were alarmed by the seditious potential of rock and roll, with the Beatles a special target and denounced as 'bugs' in official papers. Their smuggled records were destroyed and their music was banned, but the myth blossomed as bootlegs and photos were covertly traded and even rented amongst fans.
Soon there were thousands of rock bands across the USSR, trying to make music with crude home-made guitars. Speakers on lampposts installed to broadcast propaganda were grabbed by rock hopefuls, while reports that an electric pickup could be cannibalised from a telephone led to phone boxes being raided and disabled.
Millions of young people fell in love with the Beatles and the culture of the Cold War enemy, and defected emotionally from the Soviet system. The Beatles prepared the cultural way for the fall of the Berlin Wall and ultimately helped to wash away the foundations of that system.

In 1987, Juris Podnieks and his team began a series of films describing the inevitable changes in the Soviet Union during the Perestroika era. Podnieks went to the radioactive forbidden zone in Chernobyl, to the blood-stained streets of Uzbekistan, to the ruins in Armenia after the earthquake. The film looks back upon the five years of the Perestroika and ends with the astonishing events of the five day coup in August 1991: the end of the empire.

The Power of Nightmares explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion. 《民进党政治跌宕二十年》讲述了1949年退居台湾的蒋介石，为了巩固政权，严禁台湾人民组织政党，但仍然有人冒着被逮捕的危险，创办杂志，筹组政党。台湾从日据时代到国民党戒严时期，历经多次创党失败，一直到上世纪80年代，台湾仍然生活在白色恐怖的阴影中。而“美丽岛”事件给野心勃勃的党外势力以契机，李登辉借助民进党要求民主化的力量，顺利铲除了国民党的老旧势力，也为民进党打开了权利的大门。1986年，民进党创党成功，部分民进党员靠着政治犯的悲情诉求踏入政坛，陈水扁等人因为担任“美丽岛”事件的辩护律师而政治生涯一路顺畅。然而民进党执政后，并没有打开新局，民主、台独成为利己敛财的幌子，并且愈演愈烈……为何民进党执政后，产生了这么大的变化，是命运或是历史的巧合导致民进党走向了政治末路？
