Two obsessive-compulsives, a chef and an anorexic writer, are neighbors in an apartment building. The chef (301) tries to entice her neighbor to eat with fabulous meals. The writer (302) refuses to eat, and this refusal begins a turbulent relationship that forces both women to delve into their pasts of torment.

After being demoted from teaching Russian to middle-school English students, Me-sook is literally red-faced with shame, because on top of all her other issues — unrequited love, unpopularity — Me-sook has a blushing problem.

Romances end in blood and the frail hopes of individuals are torn apart in a vile karmic continuity of colonialism, civil war and occupation. After surviving Japanese colonization, Korea became the first war zone of the Cold War. The legacy of war remains today in this divided country.

故事发生在经济恐慌时代的韩国，金融风暴后很多公司受到打击，大批人员面临事业无家可归，而锡元就是其中之一，他所在的证券公司倒闭一夜之间他成了流浪者，妻子的背弃更让他面临绝境。穷困潦倒的锡元醉倒在路上，幸好被路过的剽悍男人大植所救，大植也是一个无家可归的流浪者，就这样两个人决定一起上路去釜山开始新生活。锡元始终对妻子抱有希望，等待她回心转意，而少言寡语的大植却默默爱上了锡元，后来暗恋大植的茶座小姐一珠也加入到旅行中来。锡元没有等来妻子却等来了一纸离婚协议，绝望的他对身边的大植充满了冷嘲热讽，终于使大植黯然离开。失去大植后的锡元才发现自己已经无法离开他。他找到大植的时候，才发现他因为一次意外而生命垂危奄奄一息。大雨的夜里两个人在如雪的盐场里拥抱取暖，而这却是大植生命中的最后一夜……
