The movie consists of three short stories that share a common satirical theme: alcoholism and drunkenness. The stories are "Such an imprudence!," "According to the laws of hospitality," "100 grams for bravery".

After a U.S. policeman is killed by black market weapons dealers, his partner, Rudy (Robert Madrid), and the murdered cop's father, ex-British Intelligence agent Roger Chambers (Michael York), head to Moscow to find the killers. The two begin to track down their targets, but their plan falters when Rudy's injured and Chambers is arrested. Enter Vlad (Alexander Nevsky), a Russian officer who's willing to help the men complete their mission.

Former criminal investigator, Major Korenev, nicknamed Fox is released from prison. He has been detained there as a result of planted incriminating evidence of unlawful investigation techniques. Setting accounts with Shaman - a big criminal boss, who ordered the evidence planted and also with his former colleagues was not a part of Korenev's agenda. As he returns to Moscow he finds a new world ruled by underworld bosses, criminal clans fighting each other and utter chaos on the desperately keeping appearances streets of Russian capital. Facing death of his friends, Major Korenev decides to re-install law and order using some unorthodox methods that are only relevant in 21st century Russia.

Six years after Michail Gorbachev set the Soviet Union on the path to democracy and economic reform, the nation is torn apart by a three day coup that changes the future of the Soviet Union forever. On the eve of these tumultuous events, Mikhail and Dalia arrive in Moscow to be married. She's Lithuanian. He's Russian, the son of Vladimir, a conservative army general. During the next three days, the lives of the young couple are profoundly affected by a war being fought on several fronts: at the Russian Parliament, where Mikhail must decide to take a stand and join Dalia at the barricades, and at home, where he must oppose his father who is too firmly entrenched in the Soviet system to accept either his son's marriage to a Lithuanian or the irreversible impact of glasnost on Russia. With the triumph of the pro-democracy forces and Mikhail's decision to make a stand with his generation, their confrontation is inevitable.

A group of old friends have a tradition of going to a public bathing house on New Year's Eve. Occasionally too much vodka and beer makes two of them unconscious. The problem is that one of them (Sasha) has to go to Leningrad but another one (Zhenya) goes. Zhenya wakes up at Leningrad airport. Believing that he is still in Moscow he takes a taxi and goes home. The street name, building and even apartment number, the way an apartment complex looks the same and the key coincide completely - just typical Soviet-type 'economy' architecture. Imagine the surprise of Nadya when she enters her apartment and finds a man without trousers in her bed. What's more - Nadya's fiancé also finds him there...

A Russian scientist creates a mind-reading weapon for his generals on a remote island. After the demonstration, the generals are pleased. Little do they realize, both the weapon, and the creator of the weapon have a mind of their own

The first private enterprises are started in the Soviet Union in the late 80s. A gang of bad guys, owners of a private restroom, kidnap a good guy - owner of a toy store. Private eye Dmitri's first job is to try and free the store owner.

This is a collection of five satyrical short films, including little intermision talk:
1) "Kak Sozdavalsya Robinzon" (How Robinson was Created) - writer is comissioned to make soviet version of Robinson Cruzoe;
2) "Istoriya s Pirozhkami" (Incident with Pastries) - customer has problems paying for pastries, because he has eaten them before getting to the counter;
3) "Inostrantsy" (Foreigners) - about russian people who want to be more like western people;
4) "Priyatnogo Appetita" (Bon Appetit) - one episode for restaurant life;
5) "Pyos Baros i Neobchainy Kross" (Barbos the hound and Unusual Cross-country Race) - first appearance of later famous Morgunov/Nikulin/Vitsin trio in tale about fishing with dinamite instead of fishing rods

When the president of Russia suddenly dies, a man whose politics are virtually unknown succeeds him. The change in political leaders sparks paranoia among American CIA officials, so CIA director Bill Cabot recruits a young analyst to supply insight and advice on the situation. Then the unthinkable happens: a nuclear bomb explodes in a U.S. city, and America is quick to blame the Russians.
