The King of the Flower Planet is dying, but his heir can't take up the throne until the legendary Seven Color Flower, symbol of the King's power, is found. 惜しまれつつ逝去した藤子・F・不二雄が作家人生の後期に執筆した、人気SF連作漫画のアニメ化。2時間枠の単発TVアニメ特番として、製作放映された。どこにでもいる平凡な中学生の並平凡（なみひら・ぼん）。ある日彼は、不思議な美少女リーム・ストリームと出会う。リームは未来世界から現れたタイムパトロールの一員で、その使命は歴史の陰で可能な限りの人命救済を行なうことだった。ひょんな事態の流れから、リームとともに彼女の後輩隊員として活動することになった凡。古代エジプトや南北戦争の時代を舞台に、リームと凡の冒険が始まる。番組製作はスタッフ21。当時まだ新人だった女優の富田靖子がナレーションを務めたことも話題になっている。シリーズ化が期待されたが単発編で終了。ただしアニメ映像の実制作を手がけたスタジオぎゃろっぷは、のちに大ヒットの藤子アニメ『キテレツ大百科』を送り出している。
