A huge wave is about to destroy the city. Many people leave in panic, only a few remain in the lonely streets. Among them are SEBASTIAN, a skeptical and irresolute young loner; ANA, a woman who seeks in others the passion she can’t live; and an apocalyptic GIRL. They turn the city into a games board where the stakes are love and the end of the world.

In 1856, a whaling port docks at the depressed Peruvian fishing village of Paita. Among the boat's crew is a young sailor by the name of Herman Melville, who is developing the idea for a novel about a whale called Moby Dick. Meanwhile, in the village resides a woman named Manuela Saenz, who was at the center of national gossip by becoming passionately involved with Simon Bolivar, the Latin American revolutionary. Melville meets her and attempts to get her to talk about Bolivar. She refuses, but his visit prompt her to re-read Bolivar's letters to her, which causes her to have vivid memories of their time together.

The story of Diego, a young and successful photographer that lives in the glamorous world of fashion, shallowness and excess. A tragic accident turns his world around; his partner is now in a coma. Unexpectedly, and right at this terrible time, Diego must take care of his son, Armando. Now, both of them have to adapt to each other; Armando to the unknown, homosexual world of his father, and Diego to the closed attitude of his teenage son.
