A warrior named Dahufa goes to save his prince from a dystopian village. He finds the dystopian village ruled by a fake god and his guards. In order to save the prince, Dahufa has to defeat the god and his men, and disclose the whole conspiracy.

One day, on his way to visit his grandfather's grave, Zhang Chulan is attacked by zombies in a graveyard. In the midst of that situation, he is saved by a mysterious girl, who wields kitchen knives in order to kill the enemies. The girl tells Chulan, who is relieved, to face his hardships head on and leaves. However, Chulan later sees that girl again at his university. 短い作品ではあるが、『ラスト・リゾート』から約13年半ぶりに作られた『MS08小隊』の完全新作々品である。

UC.(宇宙世纪)0079年，人类已经在宇宙发展并建立了许多巨大的殖民卫星，让人类能够居住在宇宙中。位于SIDE3的吉翁公国不堪忍受地球联邦政府对其剥削和压迫，遂宣布独立并组建对地球联邦宣战。在战争中双方先后开发了机动战士并投入战场。NEWTYPE少年阿姆罗·雷无意中驾驶上联邦军新开发的RX-78-2高达，卷入后来被称为“一年战争”中，并与其宿敌夏亚·阿兹纳布尔相遇。故事即是以阿姆罗为中心，描述他跟着高达的母舰白色要塞，历经种种困难而成长的故事，还被认定为少见的“NewType”。不过第43话中阿姆罗能够跟怀特要塞中多位主要人物进行心灵感应，可以确定他们都是被阿姆罗引发起觉醒的NewType。
主角群并不是唯一参与这场世纪之战的人群，而且战斗也不限于主角所参与的战役，在后来的官方OVA和MSV等各种衍生作品中还有陆续补充的内容，并且收入官方的一年战争史中。本片的战斗并不见得完全是一般高达迷心中决定性的战役，或许更像主角群的心路历程和个人战斗记录。
本作品的主要故事是描写两个政治上对立组织的战争中，偶然但主动地成为军用机器人驾驶员的主角，以及他的同伴们，在战火中拼命求生的群像剧。不止主角方面，支援主角的人们以及与主角对立的吉恩公国军官士兵也有许多个性丰富的人物。本作品对于双方角色的细致描写使得作品的世界内容非常丰富，也产生了许多有思想深度的名场景与故事。
本作品中少年在地球与殖民地的战乱中，为阻止吉恩军对平民的无辜伤害，偶然中坐上联邦军的新锐的机动兵器“Mobile Suit”高达(高达) RX-78-2，跟着怀特要塞流转于地球与宇宙间的情节，也在日后许多续作中出现。包括《机动战士Z高达》中的卡缪·比丹，《机动战士高达 ZZ》中的捷多与《机动战士高达独角兽》中的巴纳吉。
之后还推出了三部剧场版动画《高达屹立在大地之上》，《哀战士》《相逢在宇宙》，此作无论人气，票房，收视都是高达系列中最高的。

Universal Century 0079. Humanity has turned even space itself into a battlefield, and the Principality of Zeon forces advance after wiping out half the world's population by carrying out the Operation British (colony drop). In response, the Earth Federation Forces mobilize their overwhelming fighting strength to regain the advantage. The complex intrigues of the Zabi family... Sayla Mass, as she contends with the whims of fate... Hamon and Ramba Ral, who is now a pilot in the Zeon forces... Amuro and Fraw, leading peaceful lives at Side 7... a dark shadow falls across them all. And the Zeon ace Char Aznable, driven by revenge, goes into action as the "Battle of Loum" finally begins.

The episode will focus on the young Zeon ace Char Aznable earning his "Red Comet" nom de guerre, as well as the beginnings of the Federation's "Project V" weapons project that will eventually birth the RX-78-02 Gundam.

Since leaving Texas Colony, Édouard Mass has camouflaged his identity and enrolled in the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's Space Defense Military Academy under the name of Char Aznable. He develops a friendship with his classmate Garma, a scion of the Zabi family. Gradually the two become admired by the other students. Then, in Universal Century 0077, the young at last rise up in arms and begin the fight for independence against the Earth Federation's security forces. Zeon Zum Deikun attempts to declare complete independence of Munzo from the Earth Federation Government, while he preaches the evolutionary potential of humans who have advanced into outer space. Deikun however suddenly falls to his death in the middle of his speech at parliament. Upon Deikun's death, Jimba Ral spreads word of a House of Zabi conspiracy - but despite such efforts the power and sphere of influence of House of Zabi, led by Degwin Sodo Zabi, only seem to escalate.
