《请回答1988》为韩国tvN自2015年10月30日起播出的金土连续剧，由《请回答1997》、《请回答1994》制作班底申元浩导演和李祐汀作家再度携手合作。此剧与以往将初恋作为重心的另两部同系列作品不同，将以家族关系和邻里感情作为剧情主轴。而且1988年也是香港电影的巅峰时期，张国荣、周润发等影星在韩国皆具有高知名度，因此也可能被列为剧情素材之一。

曾经是东京第一银行分行的上下级相马健（上川隆也 饰）和窗口业务员花咲舞（杏 饰）缘分不浅，二人在数月内先后调往银行本部，并分配在临店班供职。所谓临店班，是银行内部指针对出现了问题和纠纷的分店进行现场指导的部门，但是该部门由于其监督职能往往遭到分店负责人的抵制和排斥。相马和花咲按照管理分店的部长辛岛伸二朗（夏木孝明 饰）和次长芝崎太一）（塚地武雅 饰）的指示先后前往接到受理诉求的各分店进行指导，执拗并且绝不服输的花咲成功地解决了那里的问题，并对相关责任人进行了揭发，可是临店班无所畏惧的行动无意间触动了下任总行长的热门人选常务真藤毅（生瀬胜久 饰）的神经。眼见党羽接二连三落马，真藤常务再也无法对临店班坐视不理……
