《暗黑》讲述了一个超自然力量的家庭传奇故事。故事设置在今天的一个德国小镇，两个孩子的消失揭开了四个家庭的双重生活和破碎的关系。该剧集共十集，每集 1 小时，讲述了将小镇与 1986 年的过去联系起来的超自然力量。

在第三季也是最终季中，《暗黑》突破时空的概念，得出了令人意外的结局。来到新世界后，乔纳斯试图弄明白这一个温登小镇对于他自己的命运有何意义，而留在另一个世界的人们试图打破扭曲时空的循环。两个世界，光明与黑暗。中间穿插着史诗般的悲情故事。

In April of 1945, Germany stands at the brink of defeat with the Russian Army closing in from the east and the Allied Expeditionary Force attacking from the west. It is 1943, and the German army—ravaged and demoralised—is hastily retreating from the Russian front. In the midst of the madness, conflict brews between the aristocratic yet ultimately pusillanimous Captain Stransky and the courageous Corporal Steiner. Stransky is the only man who believes that the Third Reich is still vastly superior to the Russian army. However, within his pompous persona lies a quivering coward who longs for the Iron Cross so that he can return to Berlin a hero.
