A queer filmmaker is hired to direct a new installment of a slasher franchise. The director fixates on the prospect of casting the ‘final girl’ from the original movie, and the two women descend into a frenzy of psychosexual mania.

Singapore, 1994. Ah Girl is a curious 7-year-old girl. Since her parents separated, she lives in a small flat with her younger sister, Ah Tian, her easygoing Pa who works nightshifts, and her irritable Grandmother. They see their needy and unreliable Mum on weekends. One weekend, drunk Mum asks if Ah Girl wants to live with her when she gets a bigger flat. This question disrupts Ah Girl's sense of the world, and the rest of the film unfolds as she struggles with the decision. She becomes increasingly aware that her family life is far from normal.

Oksana Shachko ended her life in 2018 in Montrouge. She was 31 years old. Despite her young age, this extraordinary personality had already lived several lives. From Ukraine, she arrived in Paris in 2013; she was then a major figure in a movement that had become planetary. However, the country of human rights does not give her the expected welcome: she goes from disappointment to disappointment and her situation becomes precarious. However, she continues to fight and paint.

Israel, in the aftermath of October 7. Y., a jazz musician struggling to make ends meet, and his wife Jasmine, a dancer, sell their art, souls and bodies to the elite, and bring pleasure and consolation to a bleeding nation. Soon, Y. is given a mission of the highest importance: setting to music a new national anthem.

Cuba and Alaska are two Ukrainian paramedics who decide to leave their civilian lives behind and join the military. There they experience friendship, love, and acceptance, but also pain, sorrow, and death. As the prospect of returning to their once peaceful lives slips away, they find solace in creating art and fashion.

The film follows the lives of a family living in the Taklamakan village of Kokchol — seen through the eyes of the boy Senet (whose name means “art”) — in order to construct a spiritual history of the local village music.
