Outer Wilds is a critically-acclaimed and award-winning open world mystery about a solar system trapped in an endless time loop. The newest member of the space program in a small village on the planet Timber Hearth, the player navigates a space shuttle and travels across their solar system to get to the bottom of its mysteries by exploring the cosmos and gathering the knowledge hidden within each of the system's planets, left behind by another civilization in the distant past.

《无主之地传说》由 Telltale Games 携手《无主之地》开发商共同制作，有着《无主之地》的世界观和背景，游戏同时新增两名角色，雄心勃勃的男主角 Rhys 和满嘴花言巧语的女骗子 Fiona ，男角色为海伯利昂（Hyperion）工作，拥有一只智能机械手臂，能通过其机械手臂进入各种电子产品的系统中盗取数据；而女角色则是一个机智聪明又花言巧语的骗子，最擅长和各类人路打交道。前作中的角色将悉数登场，而且故事也同样设定在潘多拉星球，讲述了帅哥杰克（Handsome Jack）在《无主之地2》垮台后，Fiona 和 Rhys 探索潘多拉星球的故事。
　　《无主之地传说》将围绕两名新主角展开，游戏将从两个不同的角度来讲诉整个故事，Telltale 并没有透露太多关于两位主角的故事线是怎样相互影响的，但是可以知道的是，故事最终的结果取决于玩家认为两位主角谁说的是真话，游戏通过对话选项来决定游戏的进程，不同的选择将会有多重不同的分支剧情，这点与《行尸走肉》和《与狼同行》的游戏系统是一样的。
　　故事开始，Fiona 和 Rhys 被一个神秘面具男指引发现了一个秘藏，两人开始争夺秘藏钥匙的保管权，但是后来发现 Rhys 也是幕后操纵者之一。在帅哥杰克（Handsome Jack）死后，海伯利昂（Hyperion）公司的内部各势力开始陷入混乱的权利争夺当中，Rhys 发现了集团争夺者 Vasquez 在潘多拉星球关于秘藏钥匙的秘密交易，他想要设法拿到这个钥匙...
　　游戏除了剧情的引导外还有动作射击等游戏元素，并且还会是冒险游戏和翻转视角的结合，从游戏风格上，更贴近传统的Telltale式风格，注重剧情和代入感，并呈现给玩家一个更广大的无主之地世界。
