泽村表示今次有如“新参者”那样带着清新的感觉加入到木曜推理长寿剧系列大家庭，对此感到很荣幸。自己虽然过去演过很多刑警角色，今次时矢的设定则从未演过。此外舞台在京都，能拍到东京拍不到的美丽景色，也能感受到在京都的人情味及风情，希望可以为大家带来不同世代也能享受的新型悬疑剧。
他的拍档是新人女刑警佐相智佳（泷本美织饰），智佳恋爱经验很少，一直非常倾慕过去精明干练的时矢，把他调查过的案件全部记在脑中，在时矢失忆后成为他的“使用说明书”，让他以五感及观察力配合从智佳口中所知的过去经验而破案。现实生活中相差24岁、身高相差22公分的两人在剧中展现出大反差而有趣的互动。泷本表示在电视看到泽村时觉得他超级帅气，她本身就喜欢有幽默感到男性，而他既帅气又有趣，而且演出角色范围很广，是什么都能做到的出色演员，也是她的理想类型，故此十分期待共演。
