Michael Trent Reznor is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and composer. Reznor serves as the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and principal songwriter of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, which he founded in 1988 and of which he was the sole official member until 2016.

The Null Corporation will release a soundtrack album for Sam Mendes’ drama Empire of Light. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winners Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Watchmen, Mank, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 9. Empire of Light is written and directed by Mendes and stars Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Colin Firth, Tom Brooke, Toby Jones, Tanya Moodie and Crystal Clarke. The movie is set in an English coastal town in the early 1980s and tells a story of the power of human connection during turbulent times. The drama premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being released in select U.S. theaters this weekend by Searchlight Pictures.

The Null Corporation will release a soundtrack album for the coming-of-age horror romance Bones and All. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winners Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Soul, Mank, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Also included is the original song (You Made It Feel Like) Home written by Reznor & Ross and performed by themselves and Mariqueen Maandig Reznor. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 18. Bones and All is directed by Luca Guadagnino and stars Taylor Russell, Timothée Chalamet, Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, Jessica Harper, David Gordon Green and Jake Horowitz. The movie is based on the novel by Camille DeAngelis and tells a story of first love between a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society and an intense and disenfranchised drifter. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is being released in select theaters this weekend by United Artists/MGM and will open nationwide next Wednesday, November 23.

Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor and his frequent collaborator Atticus Ross are scoring HBO’s Watchmen, Lost/The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof’s new semi-adaptation, semi-sequel to the iconic 1987 Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comic book of the same. So far, the show and its soundtrack both rule; this Sunday’s installment was particularly huge, a hallucinatory sorta-flashback episode with a big twist that has far-reaching implications going all the way back to Moore’s original story. There’s a lot to talk about!
Which makes this an ideal time for Reznor and Ross to drop Watchmen: Volume 2 (Music From The HBO Series), the second installment of three planned soundtrack albums to be released over the course of the season. Like the last one, Vol. 2 works just as well on its own as it does as a television score. And in addition to the usual queasy electro bangers like “SEVEN YEARS OF BAD LUCK,” it has things like the 1920s silent movie score pastiche “TRUST IN THE LAW” and the ’40s jazz of “NOSTALGIA BLUES” and “DREAMLAND JAZZ.”
Vol. 2 includes 13 tracks in total, one of which is a minute-long clip of dialogue from the show; “A TRAVELLER FROM AN ANTIQUE LAND” and “PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE CACTUS” are also highlights.
