Nao Kitazawa’s life is good. She is busy working as a doctor at a women’s clinic, and will be getting married in a month to Yuichi Ihara, an older doctor who fits her ideal characteristics of a perfect marriage partner. However, on the day of her move to her new home, she meets Shinji Mamiya, a part-time mover, and is instantly love-struck. After Nao’s aggressive approach, Shinji soon starts to feel the same way. When Nao’s mother, Kaoru, finds out about their mutual feelings, she instantly disapproves saying that their background and level of education are just too different. Just around this time, Nao starts to show signs of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease…

Humanity finally rids themselves of Godzilla, imprisoning him in an icy tomb in the South Pole. All is peaceful until various monsters emerge to lay waste to Earth's cities. Overwhelmed, humanity is seemingly saved by a race of benevolent aliens known as Xiliens. But not all is what it seems with these bizarre visitors. 在这里将会通过手续，决定那些因自杀、他杀、病死、意外死亡等各种原因而死去的人们该去向哪里。
市村是死役所的综合接待，他用礼貌到让人不快的态度面对一个又一个死者——“您是尊贵的逝者”。
来到这里的死者各种各样，有的已经接受了自己的“死亡”，而有的还没能理解现状。
究竟他们曾如何活过、又是如何死去的呢？
从死者的申请书中抽丝剥茧，生前的惊涛骇浪一个个浮现眼前。
清白无罪者前往天堂，罪孽深重者落入地狱。又或者——。

日本“中央TV”电视台附近，一家名叫“曼哈顿”的咖啡馆。店长（松冈昌宏饰）是位对咖啡异常执着和钟爱的男人，外表沉默内心如火。他用心地为客人调制每一杯咖啡，然而光顾曼哈顿咖啡馆的客人却很少会仔细品味他的咖啡。这些形形色色的客人来咖啡馆的目的不尽相同，却都借着曼哈顿咖啡馆来休息或聊天，找一处安静又私密的空间。因为地处电视台附近的缘故，电视台的人常会打扰这家小店的宁静。他们有编剧千仓真纪（森下爱子饰）、配音员土井垣智（松尾铃木饰）、播报员江本诗织（酒井若菜饰）等等。各式各样行业的客人进出着曼哈顿咖啡馆，而每位客人都有着属于他们自己的故事。
由日本著名编剧宫藤官九郎编剧的11集电视剧《曼哈顿爱情故事》，荣获2004年“第39回日剧学院赏”最佳作品、最佳导演、最佳编剧在内的八项大奖。
