1958年出品的《王哥柳哥遊臺灣》由李冠章與矮仔財（張福財）分飾體重過重的王哥與身材矮小的柳哥，其情節模仿當時台灣譯名為『王哥柳哥』的好萊塢喜劇默片電影《勞萊與哈台》。該影片角色設定中，王哥為意外愛國獎券中獎的擦鞋匠，柳哥則為三輪車夫。劇情則描繪兩主角使用44天時間，遊遍全台灣名勝古蹟的旅途過程。
《王哥柳哥遊台灣》實為介紹台灣各地風景之喜劇劇情片，雖然充滿了戲謔的情節，但也帶來了溫馨與歡樂，在交通不甚便利的1950年代台灣影片市場一出品就受到相當矚目。該黑白有聲片，不但為台灣台語電影開發新的片種也創造極佳票房。

叶天林（钟镇涛 饰）虽然学的是兽医，但心中一直怀揣着音乐梦想。最终，他决定放弃学业，追逐内心所想。唐风（江明 饰）是叶天林的好友，无依无靠的他在孤儿院长大，近日里，孤儿院遭遇了财务危机，面临着倒闭的窘境，这让唐风感到十分焦急。
唐风的女朋友苏琪（林凤娇 饰）是广播电台的主持人，主持着一档名为“早安台北”的节目。唐风为了替孤儿院筹集资金整日东奔西走，和苏琪聚少离多，反倒是叶天林常常陪伴在苏琪的身边。苏琪的家中突遭横祸，亦是叶天林陪伴苏琪返乡处理大小事务。随着时间的推移，叶天林和苏琪之间渐渐产生了懵懂的感情。

秦秋雨（李湘 饰）是一名女画家，她将她的作品寄放在贺俊之（柯俊雄 饰）所经营的画廊之中售卖。贺俊之对这位特立独行的女艺术家印象深刻，她的一副名为《浪花》的画深深的吸引了贺俊之的注意。一天，秦秋雨的外甥女戴晓研（林凤娇 饰）来画廊玩，邂逅了贺俊之的儿子贺子健（秦汉 饰）， 趣味相投的两人很快就走到了一起。
婉玲是贺俊之的妻子，当她得知戴晓研和贺子健之间的感情后勃然大怒，千方百计的想要拆散两人，这让戴晓研感到十分痛苦。贺俊之再也无法压抑内心里对于秦秋雨的感情，于是提出了想要和婉玲离婚，没想到他的决定遭到了家人的一致反对。

Oyster-gatherer Ah-lan is in love with the often-absent fisherman Chin-shui, but a bout of premarital sex leaves her pregnant and vulnerable to malicious gossip.

Directed by some of most well known Chinese-language directors of the time, the portmanteau film Four Moods was an attempt to alleviate Li Han-hsiang’s financial troubles during the late 1960s. Arguably one of his best works, King Hu’s short Anger is an adaptation of the famous Peking opera San Cha Kou; set to opera instrumentation and stylishly shot, the film deftly captures the tense showdown between political schemers, avengers and vagabonds inside an inn. Li Han-hsiang’s Happiness, inspired by the Strange Tales of Liaozhai, tells a tale of reprieve for a kind-hearted ghost, while Pai Ching-Jui’s Joy and Lee Hsing’s Sadness both explore the fateful encounters between mortal men and ghostly women.

云楼（邓光荣 饰）是从台湾远赴香港念书的青年，借住在父亲的老同学杨伯伯家中。杨伯伯有一个女儿名叫涵妮（甄珍 饰），落落大方温文尔雅的她很快就吸引了云楼的注意，两人坠入了爱河。遗憾的是，涵妮拥有先天性心脏病，随时都有可能发病身亡，这让云楼的内心里始终都有一丝不安。
