Petr studies law in Prague, Jakub studies philosophy there. They are the best of friends until their holiday trip to Slovakia is crossed by a Romani young man named Imro. Imro is in love with Eržika, who is guilty of breaking an ancient tradition by breaking her vow of loyalty. The vow is the law. In a fit of jealousy, Imro kills his beloved. Two punishments await him. One from the majority "white" society, the other from his own Roma community. Petr and Jakub watch Imro's tragic fate from close proximity and their views on the matter of justice and punishment begin to diverge diametrically. The academic controversy eventually escalates into a fundamental conflict of life attitudes that almost destroys their friendship. Whose side is the truth on?

A motley of vacationers on a bus headed for a week long vacation at a seaside resort. Among them: a single, moderately famous singer; a nerdy, onanistic man; a couple of old ladies reaching senility; a couple of young gals looking for an amorous adventure; a family with a boy unsure about where he fits sexually; a beautiful woman that, besides working as a trip guide, has pretensions of being a music composer; a couple of gay men; and another family where the parents are stuck in a sexual ice age while their twentyish daughter is looking to connect with a man.

Jolana (18) is an object of her step-father's desire. She is unable to cope, especially when her own mother turns a blind eye. Those events are heavily paid for when she finds herself working in a brothel. Her inability to cope raise a question: What is it she actually wants? Are her dreams of escaping really better than the reality she finds herself in?

Situated in Prague, a 20-year-old Vietnamese named Song, hoped for a better future in Europe. But now in a Vietnamese district in Prague, he is trapped in a marijuana grow house and has life of a modern slave. Police rounds up the place. Song runs away on the rooftop of a condo building in a nearby district where he breaks down. Mr. Rypar (78) lives alone. He is fond of the old times, living in a strong opposition to modern world. Rypar goes up on the roof and meets Song standing on the very edge of the roof crying and the story begins.
