神と人とが共存する神話世界。ルーン王国の皇子クルトは、8歳の誕生日に妖魔を統べるメデューサの手先から忠誠を誓うように命じられるが、それを拒否し、精霊であるクルトの母ガラティアを石に変えたメデューサを倒すために旅立った。クルトの旅の仲間は、竜の子供レオンと乗り物代わりの巨大なひとつ目ギルガドール、そしてガラティアの妹で精霊のオリエ、そして人間の少女であるもう一人の占星術師オリエたちだ。クルトと仲間たちは、メデューサの手先と戦いながら、行く先々で様々な出会いと別れを繰り返していく。そんな旅の途中、クルトは己の出生の秘密に関わる「ピグマリオ」という言葉を耳にする。「スケバン刑事」などで有名な少女漫画家和田慎二氏の手がけた長編ファンタジーロマンをアニメ化。
