《幻境神话》是家喻户晓的网络游戏，在第十二次资料片更新之时，一场意外的发生竟然将三万名玩家困在了游戏构筑的虚拟世界之中。老牌玩家城惠（寺岛拓笃 配音）就是其中的一员，现实中个性内向的他在游戏里却极其富有领导才能，深受同伴的信赖和喜爱。
恐惧和绝望笼罩在被困在游戏里的玩家的头顶上，个性开朗直爽大大咧咧的战士直继（前野智昭 配音）、拥有可爱外貌和强大实力的刺客晓（加藤英美里 配音）联同城惠站了出来，创立了工会“记录的地平线”，他们从大都市秋叶原开始出发，踏上冒险的旅途，决心开拓出属于他们的世界，找到脱出的方法。

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself.
