director: 奥逊·威尔斯 actor: 奥逊·威尔斯 / 奥雅·柯达
other title: 梦想家
Between 1980 and 1982 Orson Welles shot with very limited means scenes for a film based on two short stories by Isak Dinesen: “The Dreamers” and “Echoes.” The intention was to produce a lavish period movie. Written in collaboration with Oja Kodar, the script weaves the tale of opera singer Pellegrina Leoni, who loses her voice in a fire and then determines from then on to lead the lives of many. The merchant Marcus Coccoza follows her around the world, “a faintly perceptible presence who watches over her.”
Since Welles couldn’t interest any producer in this project, he started filming in the living room and in the backyard of his house near Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Only a few scenes were shot with Oja Kodar in costumes designed by Welles himself. This restoration by the Munich Film Museum contains all the elements that were filmed, recorded, and partially edited by Welles: the lines of Marcus Cocoza, later renamed Marcus Kleek (played by Welles), and two versions of Pellegrina’s farewell.

Don Quixote (1992) [Movie] IMDb TMDB Douban
Don Quijote de Orson Welles
other title: 奥逊·威尔斯的堂吉诃德 / Don Quijote de Orson Welles
Finished by Jesus Franco and Patxi Irigoyen in 1992. (Orson Welles died in 1985).
In the 1950s, Orson Welles shot some scenes featuring himself as "Orson Welles, the film director" and then little girl 'Patricia McCormack' as a child named "Dulcie" (after Dulcinea), which will be introduced by Welles in the world of Don Quixote. These scenes aren't present in this Jesus Franco version.
According to Spanish film critic Juan Cobos, who had watched an early rough cut of the movie while Orson Welles was still filming material for it, this new version cut and reshaped by Jesus Franco doesn't resemble Welles' vision at all.
The film doesn't include all known footage of Don Quixote. There is footage being privately held in at least two collections in Europe.
In the unfinished doc, Filming the Trial, Orson Welles said that if Don Quixote was ever finished, he would have called it "When are you going to finish Don Quixote?"
Unlike other unfinished Orson Welles films, Don Quixote's incomplete state was not because of lack of finances. Welles always considered his Don Quixote a "private exercise". Or as he put it, he worked on it like an author works on a novel; under no obligations, no time constraints, and could finish it whenever he feels like it.
Orson Welles began filming this picture in 1955 and worked on it off and on over the years.
Silent snow, secret snow (1971) [TV] Douban
Silent snow, secret snow
director: Gene R. Kearney actor: Lonny Chapman / Patti Cohoon
In 1934, Conrad Aiken wrote his most famous short story, "Silent Snow, Secret Snow." It went on to become one of the most widely read American short stories of the 20th-century. 37 years later in 1971, Rod Serling's Night Gallery would adapt this short tale as part of its weekly anthology series. With a teleplay and direction by Emmy Award-nominated Gene R. Kearney, the episode remains one of the finest half-hours from 1970s television.
"Silent Snow, Secret Snow" tells the story of young Paul Hasleman and his slow decent into madness. When Paul awakens one morning to the sound of the postman's muffled footsteps on the street below, his belief that it has snowed the night before is shattered when he discovers the sun-draped lawn outside his window. Paul's discovery of a "secret snow" begins his slow detachment from the real world around him.
Night Gallery is probably best known for it's weekly horror stories and strange tales book ended with introductions by it's host, writer Rod Serling. Serling worked more often as a host than writer on the program, unlike his more famous Twilight Zone series of the 1950s-60s. For Twilight Zone, Serling took a more active role in weekly production, and it shows. Night Gallery only ran for 3 seasons, and only a handful of episodes remain memorable in viewers minds. But the ones that do were strong, and often were based on famous and some not-so-famous short stories. Contemporary writers like Richard Matheson, and Serling provided among the best of the series along with adaptations by classic authors like Aiken and Edgar Allen Poe.
