Nandita is happily married to Mukundan. One day, she happens to meet her childhood sweetheart Rajeevan and they become intimate friends. But they decide to part ways as they are already married.

Vishnu, a teacher, gets transferred to a distant village. Vishnu's son passes away in an accident. Vishnu decides to hide this news from his wife, who is in prison, till she is released.
