故事讲述在2020年的东京的女主角・中川沙织（中条彩未）在法国料理大赛中胜出的厨师，虽然加入一流的法国菜餐厅，但因为做的料理得不到评价，每天只能洗碟，渐渐失去自信和热情。某天她突然穿越到1964年的东京，与那个时代的西洋料理厨师・菊池隆一（本乡奏多）相遇，并在他的手下修业。和2020年相比，1964年的料理界无论是食材还是调理器具都十分缺乏，然而菊池专心一意做好料理，在旁边看着他的沙织也渐渐了解料理中最重要的东西为何，还有自己作为料理人有什么不足。之后她渐渐从尊敬变成爱上菊池，但因为某事件发生，沙织回到2020年，到底这一切是否发梦？在东京奥运再临的56年后，沙织的恋爱突然迎接终结。
