“The River” was released in 1990 and expands the acoustic journeys of Ali Farka Touré’s debut, by including guests on some tracks such as Steve Williamson (sax) or members of the Chieftains (fiddle and bodhran)… Calabash player Amadou Cisse provides rhythmic accompaniment. All songs are traditional, arranged and adapted by Touré.
